Working principle of Reverse Osmosis system
Reverse osmosis membranes are the pinnacle of membrane separation technology, the working principle is simple, a high salt solution is passed through a semi-permeable membrane under high pressure so that the contaminating ions are filtered out into the reject stream which is highly concentrated with ions while the ultra-pure water that is generated (also called permeate) is used for a variety of commercial, industrial & municipal applications.

Brackish Water Systems
Brackish water (TDS: 1,000–10,000 ppm) is typically sourced from underground and can damage industrial utility equipment if untreated. Reverse Osmosis is commonly used for purification.

Seawater Desalination Systems
These systems use Reverse Osmosis (RO) at 55–70 bar to treat seawater (TDS > 35,000 ppm), achieving 98.5–99.8% salt rejection. Pretreatment prevents membrane fouling, and post-treatment ensures the water is safe for use. Widely used in coastal and water-scarce regions where freshwater sources are limited.

Used in pharma for PW/WFI-grade water as per USP/EP standards. Combines RO, EDI, and UF to remove ions, organics, microbes, and endotoxins.
