What is MVR Evaporation?
Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) is an advanced evaporation technology that uses electrical energy and a heat pump principle to recycle waste heat—minimizing energy use and achieving near complete water recovery.
Process Description: How It Works ?
- Preheated wastewater enters a vertical heat exchanger, forming a thin film for efficient evaporation.
- Vapors are drawn under vacuum into a high-efficiency MVR compressor, which compresses and reheats the vapor.
- The vapor is then condensed, releasing latent heat that preheats the incoming feed.
- Condensate is collected, and concentrate is discharged periodically.
- The system includes a preheater (PHE) for energy recovery from exiting condensate.
This closed-loop thermal cycle ensures minimal energy loss and continuous high-efficiency operation.
